Emma Raducanu is not keen on leaving Indian Wells as the Brit played her longest match yet at the event to take down Beatriz Haddad Maia 6-1 2-6 6-3.
It was a really interesting match with Both players winning one set but Raducanu also won another one. The Brit started well hitting the ball very cleanly and giving Haddad Maia quite a bit of trouble. The Brazilian was misfiring a lot in the first set and the score reflected that quite clearly. A 6-1 set for Raducanu who didn't quite produce the same effort in the second set.
Haddad Maia was far more stable in that set and committed fewer mistakes. The thing that changed dramatically was Raducanu serving much worse in the second set and Haddad Maia serving much better. They basically switched roles on serve and it resulted in a very convincing set for Haddad Maia 6-2.
The final one was a pretty decent one from both as they both serve pretty well. Both hit the ball well and there was very little separating them early. Both players had a break point but neither converted it to go ahead. Eventually, Raducanu got another one and this time around she took it for the 5-3 lead.
She would finish of the match 6-4.
