Emma Raducanu was supposed to make her return at an Exhibition in China recently but she won't as she came down with the flu leaving her fans disappointed.
Raducanu is not playing right now but she was set to make an appearance at an Exhibition in China along with some other players. It was unclear whether Raducanu would have played at the event though that seemed quite unlikely. Even so, fans were excited to see Raducanu in China considering her huge following in the country due to having Chinese heritage.
Returning to China has always been a wish for Raducanu as she has family there and hasn't been there in a while. She even admitted it in the announcement saying that she's been wanting to go for years:
"I have been looking forward to returning to China for 4 years now and am so sad to miss the coming to see my family. I hoping to go back as soon as i possible to see my fans and family."

Flu

When it comes to the reason for the withdrawal, Raducanu explained that it was due to catching the flu. In her announcement, the Brit said that she's been feeling ill for a few days and even though she tested negative for covid, Raducanu was advised by a doctor not to travel:
"Unfortunately, I have been sick with flu symptoms the last few days, and, although tested negative for covid, my doctor said I could not travel. I am devastated to miss the event in Hangzhou."
It's just the latest disappointment for Raducanu who is seemingly very unfortunate with any tennis-related activity. It's been a while since she was able to do anything related to her career but fans are hopeful of a return later this year. There is no official timetable though.
