Emma Raducanu will player her first UK evnet this year next month at the Birmingham Classic on grass.
The British player was announced as a participant official today and it's going to serve her as a prep event ahead of Wimbledon. It's a nice event that usually draws pretty good players with Ons Jabeur lifting her maiden career trophy last year. The event will run from June 13th till June 19th and it will be the first time she plays at the event.
She said:
"I can’t wait to play in Britain again and I’m delighted to be competing at the Rothesay Classic in Birmingham in the 40th year of this terrific showcase for women. It will be great to get back onto the grass at home, where the backing of the British fans was so fantastic.”
The Brit was forced to retire in her match today against Andreescu due to a back issue. She should be ready to compete at the French Open later this month.
