German tennis player
Eva Lys may have lost her quarterfinal match at the
Japan Open, but she had the last laugh after calling out a fan who insulted her after her exit from the tournament.
The 22-year old stunned the tennis community by reaching the quarterfinals as a qualifier, taking out the likes of Colombian star Camila Osorio en route to the final eight. However, Lys fell to home-favorite Aoi Ito in a three-set slugfest, as the Japanese player was spurred on by the local crowd.
Lys shares hate message she received on social media
The World No.118 took to Instagram to share a message she had received from a cowardly fan, who chose to insult her after her loss to Ito.
"That was some coward sh*t you pulled off tonight," wrote the fan in a DM.
With several players already speaking out regarding the abuse they receive online from fans, Lys chose not to be quiet. The German star proceeded to dig up information about the fan, before tagging his wife with a screenshot of the distasteful message she had received.
"Why is your man insulting a 22-year old on Instagram? @margaux_mcclure" wrote Lys in one of her Instagram stories.
