Chris Evert considers Steff Graf and Martina Navratilova in the GOAT debate alongside Serena Williams who many would pick as the greatest ever in that debate.
Serena Williams is widely considered to be the greatest tennis player in the history of the sport however some think that the debate is still open. As with the ATP one, debates are mostly based upon how you feel and you won't many that would agree on many questions surrounding it. Everybody has favourites but Chris Evert has a pragmatic approach to the question.
She considers all of Graf, Navratilova and Williams to be GOAT's because all were incredible tennis players during their time. It's a nice way to look at things because eras can't be quite compared as there are so many variables in each one. Evert was in a discussion with a fan who asked how the world perceived Graf's 1988 year where she won all four grand slams.
She explained that it would have been a far bigger deal today showing how different the tennis landscape was back then compared to now. She also added that for her all three players are the GOAT's:
"After reading these comments, I want to say as much as Steffi was a goat , so were Martina and Serena. This text was more about the importance of GS’s , all in one year, which Steffi won! All are goats!!!"
