Rising tennis star, Tatiana Prozorova has come under fire prior to her US Open debut. Targeted by former Ukrainian tennis star, Sergiy Stakhovsky who has been on the front line in the Russia-Ukraine war, her activity on social media is the source of much debate.
The original tweet by Ukrainian Tennis BTU said about the videos that Prozorova had recently liked:
"So Prozorova makes her Grand Slam debut at the US Open in qualifying. Videos she just "liked" recently: "Putin - the most respected man on Earth", "Russian military jet pilots are the best", "Putin puts Poland in its place", "3 Russian knights: Putin, Lukashenko & Kadyrov"
"Neutral they said…" simply wrote Stakhovsky in response.
The player in question will play in the second round of US Open qualifying aiming to head towards the main draw.
But after issues surrounding Mirra Andreeva a few months back with her liking pro-Putin content, it seems this is still very much a feature of Russian tennis stars.
