Coco Gauff won her singles match at the Billie Jean King Cup and partnered with
Caty McNally to secure the decisive point for the United States, qualifying
them for the tournament finals.
Her regular
doubles partner, Pegula, also had a strong performance, winning both of her
singles matches. Both players have solidified their positions in the top-10 of
the singles circuit, and they have won five titles together, including the
recent 2023 Miami Open.
The
19-year-old tennis player shared a photo of Pegula supporting her in the
decisive match of the series, where Gauff was partnered with McNally. The sign
Pegula held read, "We love McCoco," referring to the duo's nickname.
The tennis players also shared images of the moment on their Instagram stories.
This week,
Coco will be playing in the Stuttgart Open as the fifth seed and will face a
tough match in her debut against Russian player Veronika Kudermetova. As for
Pegula, she will be taking a rest this week to prepare for her participation in
the Madrid Open.
