Linda Noskova 6-4, 6-3, advancing to the fourth round of the
BNP Paribas
Indian Wells.
The young
star had a great debut in the second round against Spanish player Cristina
Bucsa, defeating her in two sets to meet Noskova in the third round. The
18-year-old Czech player is currently ranked world No. 54 and has quietly
climbed the rankings at her young age. She defeated Romanian player Irina
Camelia Begu and American player Amanda Anisimova on her way to the third
round.
Gauff
showed superiority over Noskova from the beginning of the match and got the
first break in the third game of the first set. The American player was strong
with her serve and maintained the advantage to win the first set 6-4. The Czech
player's level dropped in the second set and the world No. 6 took the
opportunity to start the set with a break that put her up 3-0, but the Czech
player reacted to bring the score to 4-3.
Coco Gauff
returned the break and closed out the match 6-4, 6-3, advancing to the fourth
round of Indian Wells. In the round of 16, she will face Swedish player Rebecca
Peterson.
