With the Australian Open less than a month away, the doubles entry list is beginning to take shape as some unlikely teams are formed in an attempt to capture Grand Slam glory.
Outside of the established teams that include the pairing of Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova or US Open champions Samantha Stosur and Zhang Shuai, several players have teamed up at the first Grand Slam of the season.
Former World No.1 Simona Halep will be teaming with compatriot Elena-Gabriela Ruse, while recent Indian Wells champion Paula Badosa is paired up with Elena Rybakina.
Joining the ever-growing list of doubles pairings are 2020 Australian Open singles champion Sofia Kenin and Yulia Putintseva, US Open runner-up Leylah Fernandez and New Zealander Erin Routliffe, and Americans Coco Gauff and Catherine McNally.
