Simona Halep is one of the first players to declare that she will not be involved at the US Open in August amid safety concerns.

Halep in fact will not play in any tournaments outside Europe including USA and China; who have been affected massively by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The World Number Two as a result will not play in any of the warmup events; or the Asian swing as a whole which is a big loss to all tournaments.
This comes after it was revealed earlier on Tuesday that the US Open will go ahead in August; with Nick Kyrgios reacting unfavourably to this decision.
Roger Federer is already out of contention for the rest of the year; but Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal as well as the likes of Ashleigh Barty and Petra Kvitova have also had doubts so might be the next big casualties.
