Halep undergoes nose surgery after problems breathing during US Open hard court swing

Simona Halep going into the Western & Southern Open and US Open was the victor at the National Bank Open in Toronto but fell early in particular in the latter against Daria Snigur.

But there may have been a cause to the downturn in form from the former World No.1 who has undergone surgery to deal with breathing problems which in particular was an issue during Washington.

As a result, she will be out for the next few weeks and adds to a period where she has also recently ended her marriage to Toni Iuruc.

"Hi everyone, as some might already know, I have been struggling for a while with nose problems and it got worse during the summer, especially in Washington. This problem made it hard to breathe and even worse during the nights as I was going through complete blocked nose," said Halep.

The only way to solve the problem was to undergo a surgery. The doctor Daniel Popescu has performed it and taken this opportunity to also make a plastic surgery intervention. Thank you! I also want to thank my anesthesiologist Doctor Uleia Alex.
