In our final Daily Dose of Social Media of the year, we take a look at how the top tennis stars are celebrating New Year with it already being 2026 over in Australia.
For us in Europe, we have to wait an hour or so from time of publish but while the top players celebrate, the entertainment will also return in the form of the tennis season with the United Cup starting on Friday.

Elena Rybakina stuns celebrating New Year

It was both business and casual for Rybakina on New Year as she shared a photo with her team practicing in Brisbane which begins her season on January 4 but also an elevator selfie with a picture of a koala dressed as a Christmas tree in a grey dress.
Ready for New Years Eve and the year that is to come, Rybakina perhaps finished the season as one of the best players on the planet with the Kazakh who fought so much throughout the year with her coach Stefano Vukov getting banned initially finally hit form when he returned.
She won multiple titles in Asia to qualify for the WTA Finals and then won it all. Certain people including Andy Roddick believe she will win more Grand Slams in 2025 than her singular effort at Wimbledon. Who's to say she can't?

Amanda Anisimova celebrates with her team

While Amanda Anisimova also off an incredible year showed pictures of herself with her team at dinner as she also hits Brisbane for New Years Eve.
The new American No.1 as of next week, Anisimova had a wonderful 2025 and will hope for an even better 2026. The most improved player on the WTA circuit and for some even the player of the year, she lost two Grand Slam finals but won multiple titles and showed why her return has to be marvelled at.
She has spent her time in Australia so far too very much enjoying a few days before she gets going again. Her good friend Priscilla Hon (friend to many including Raducanu and notably Karolina Muchova) has appeared in a lot of videos shared this past week of Anisimova in Brisbane so it is also about home comforts in having her good friend residing there.

Zheng Qinwen readies for return

Zheng Qinwen readies herself for a return in the coming weeks at the Australian Open looking to recount her memories of reaching the final two years ago.
She has since had multiple surgeries in the past year after 2024 was the best year of her life and soon fell apart. But she has instead celebrated the year instead of ending on an unhappy note.
She shared a drove of pictures from the year and also celebrated New Year with a love heart of motif of champagne glasses clinking. She will also be in Australia now ahead of the new year.
"Wishing my loved ones health and happiness in 2026, and myself the success to achieve my dreams. Let’s go!" she penned on her Instagram.

Lois Boisson celebrates best year of her life

Title winner and Roland Garros semi-finalist, Lois Boisson has gone from deodorant gate with Harriet Dart to a contender and despite not starting her season right away, she is celebrating the new year.
She has been out with injury for some time and won't be ready for the United Cup through precaution but has been one of the best stories of 2025.
She shared a picture 'dump' as well of her year and shared a heartfelt message about how incredible 2025 really was for the French wonderwoman.
"2025 WHAT A YEAR ranked 513 in april to end it 36, but this year was so much more, lived childhood dreams, and life moments with loved ones that I will cherish forever, difficult time also that taught me a lot. GRATEFUL," Boisson wrote on Instagram.

Djokovic celebrates a year and century

Novak Djokovic has now reached 101 titles but he reached 100 in style in Geneva and as he approaches 39, he is still very much a contender.
Djokovic shared pictures from the year that was including one of him with his fellow contemporaries Federer and Nadal, winning a Globe Sports Award, Wimbledon, drinking juice and also his fans.
A real overall look back at the year of the greatest of all time. he will return at Adelaide the week after next ahead of the Australian Open.
"2025: game, set and wrapped. A year (and century) to remember. Thank you to every single one of you for your support," he said on Instagram.

Raducanu shares a quokka selfie

Emma Raducanu is gearing up herself for the United Cup and has done all the tourist stuff that tennis players do.
This includes quokkas with Naomi Osaka also spotting them. They will face off in the coming days. While Felix Auger-Aliassime and Victoria Mboko also met koalas.
Raducanu will have to anchor Great Britain's hopes with Billy Harris having to replace Jack Draper who is still injured in a hammer blow for the team.

Iga Swiatek celebrates New Year with Wim Fissette

While Emma Raducanu celebrated by meeting quokkas, it was an amusing picture of Swiatek with her coach Wim Fissette as she brings in the New Year.
She will play at the United Cup representing Poland in the coming days as one of the favourites to lift the title.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out jokes Boulter

Katie Boulter will play Australian Open qualifying in the next few weeks after plummeting in the rankings amid injuries and the Brit showed her thoughts on the year in her photo dump.
She said don't let the door hit you on the way out. Albeit she is looking forward not back. She said that she is ready to welcome the best year of her life as she gets married to fellow tennis star Alex de Minaur.
"2 of the loudest reminders I learnt in 2025: -Success is one thing but my best and most fulfilling accolade will always be my people around me and the journey I share with them. -Someone else always has it tougher. Keep smiling. Adiós 2025 don’t let the door hit you on the way out ….Welcoming the best year of my life. She about to be a wifey," said Boulter on Instagram.
