The Asian swing will be in full effect when the
China Open kicks off on September 24, as the 2025 WTA season winds to a close. The fan-favorite tournament is one of the must-see events on the WTA calendar, and it will be available for viewing on several platforms across the globe.
A WTA 1000 event, the China Open will be without World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka. The reigning US Open champion announced her withdrawal from the prestigious event earlier this week, citing an injury she picked up towards the end of her run in New York.
Nonetheless, the China Open will not lack star power. Defending champion
Coco Gauff is slated to compete at the event, after her round of 16 loss to four time Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka at the recent US Open.
Joining Gauff is Wimbledon champion Iga Swiatek, who is currently competing at the Korea Open. The Polish superstar won the Beijing title in 2023, and will look to build off her quarterfinal loss in New York to eventual finalist Amanda Anisimova, who is also competing in Beijing.
Zheng hoping to compete in front of home fans
China's Qinwen Zheng was forced to miss the US Open due to an elbow injury. After undergoing surgery, the Chinese No.1 looks set to return to action in Beijing.
Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina has been confirmed for the Beijing Open. Additionally, Italy's Jasmine Paolini and 2024 runner-up Muchova also scheduled to compete.
In addition to Gauff and Anisimova, several other Americans will be making the long trip to Beijing for the WTA 1000 tournament. Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys and Emma Navarro will all be joining Gauff in an attempt to bring the title back to the United States. Below is how you can catch all the action worldwide.
