The 2025 Ningbo Open is one of the several stops during the Asian swing on the WTA Tour, with top-ranked tennis stars traveling to Ningbo, China for the recent addition to the WTA calendar.
A WTA 500 event, the Ningbo Open will run from October 13-19, 2025. The tournament has seen it's popularity and stature grow over the years, becoming a WTA 125K event in 2013 before being elevated to WTA 500 status in 2024.
The event is rich in Chinese culture and features an appreciative crowd who consistently show up to support their favorite players at this outdoor hardcourt event. The singles field consists of 28 players, whereas 16 teams will compete for the doubles title.
Australian tennis star Daria Kasatkina won the trophy at last year's event. The 28-year old defeated former compatriot Mirra Andreeva in 2024 to lift her second title of the season.

Kasatkina, Andreeva return; Anisimova looks to ride momentum

Both 2024 finalists have been confirmed for this year's event. Joining them Diana Shnaider, Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and two-time Grand Slam champion Barbora Krejcikova.
A handful of American stars are slated to compete at the Ningbo Open. Amanda Anisimova has been in red-hot form over the second half of the season, having reached two consecutive Grand Slam finals (Wimbledon, US Open) over the last few months.
Anisimova will be joined by compatriots Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro. Furthermore, 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu has been handed a wildcard entry to this event. The British star may have to face a returning Qinwen Zheng, who was forced to miss the US Open due to injury.
Fans eager to catch all the action need not worry as the event is broadcast globally. In the USA, the tournament will be shown in full on Tennis Channel. Sky Sports will show the tournament in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, South Tyrol, Italy, San Marino, and Vatican City. While in Australia it is shown on beIN Sports, in New Zealand it is shown on DAZN.
beIN Sports also shows the event in France. Canal+ ordinarily shows the tournaments in Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia but all are out of the reckoning for this tournament as well as Nottingham, Iasi, Sao Paolo, Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Jiujiang. Eleven Sports shows the event in Portugal.
