"I am super excited to play Maria Sakkari" says Bianca Andreescu na next US Open match

Both Bianca Andreescu and Maria Sakkari have played excellent so far at the US Open and their matchup on Monday will be one many tennis fans will look out for. For Andreescu the stakes are very high and she is embracing the challenge. She said:

“I think it’s going to be a great match. I’m super excited to play against her. We had a very, very tough match in Miami. I’m sure it’s going to be the same. I want to go out there not really thinking too much and looking back at our previous match.”

Andreescu won that Miami Open match yet it was a gruelling affair that went to three sets. For Andreescu the US Open is a special event in many ways. Not only did she win her maiden appearance at the event which is still her lone grand slam victory but she also made history at his year's event. She became the 3rd player behind Goolagong and Seles to win her first 10 matches at the Open. On that she said:

"I know that I was 10-0, but I didn’t know only a certain amount of people did that. So for me, hearing it, I feel very grateful to have accomplished that and to be alongside all those amazing players. I hope that I can continue my streak and make it two in a row.”

The match against Sakkari will be played on Day 8 of the US Open (today) at 03:00 CET.
