Brazil’s tennis star
Beatriz Haddad Maia has admitted that
she will sweat a lot on Sunday after securing her place in the final of two different
categories in the ongoing WTA tournament.
The 27-year-old reached the final in the women’s singles category
of the
WTA Elite Trophy after beating Russia’s Daria Kasatkina in the semis
with a score of 6-4, 6-1.
That’s not it as she also cemented her spot in the final of
the doubles after winning the semifinal along with her partner Veronika Kudermetova
as the duo defeated the pair of Yana Sizikova and Oksana Kalashnikova in the
last-four clash in straight sets with a score of 6-0, 6-3.
Haddad Maia, while talking on-court after securing a
positive result on Saturday, admitted that tomorrow she will sweat a
lot as she will be giving her all to win two different titles.
“I think tomorrow I’ll sweat a lot. 😂
I’m happy. I’m excited. This season was pretty hard. Everyone was playing a
high level. I’m very happy to reach my first final. I was trying to push til
the end. I’m happy & proud of what we’re doing. I’m motivated for
tomorrow.”
In the singles category, Haddad Maia will go up against China’s
Qinwen Zheng whereas in the double category, she and Kudermetova will face Miyu
Kato and Aldila Sutjiadi.
