Qinwen Zheng saw an Asian Games gold medal in one of the best moments of her career and an Olympics spot turn into frustration as her short-time coach, Wim Fissette decided to breach their contract to return to
Naomi Osaka.
The Chinese star who under the guidance of the renowned coach has reached the Quarter-Finals of the US Open and also won her first title in Palermo will now have to begin the search for a new coach.
Opening up prior to the China Open, she said this subsequently made her cry and that the situation stemmed all the way back to her run at Flushing Meadows.
Osaka herself appeared on site in New York to do interviews with ESPN and now has her coach back who brought her most of her success until they split prior to her pregnancy. But while she understands the decision brought on by Fissette, forgiveness is not there.
"During the US Open I knew he had contact with the team of Osaka. I cried after hearing his decision. I understand that Osaka can provide a better offer, and he has a family to support. I understand his decision, but it doesn't mean I will forgive him," said Zheng during China Open media.
