Emma Raducanu recently announced that she had two surgeries done with another planned in the future and former player Johanna Konta talked about her on Sky recently.
Konta knows fully well how it is to deal with injuries as her own career was cut short due to injuries and Raducanu has been dealing with a lot of them this year. She tried playing through them but eventually settled on having several operations after it became apparent that it won't get any better, especially on clay courts.
Speaking on Sky, Kontatalked about Raducanu said:
"It really depends what was really done in the surgery. There are big surgeries and then there are very minor procedures. We don't know what exactly she got done."
She further added her belief that US Open will be a target for Raducanu:
"I think she will want to get back on court as soon as she can. If she can come back for the US Open, she will do that. Whether her body will allow that, remains to be seen."
And more:
"I think as a player you want to get back as soon as possible. You want to put in the work to be back on Tour playing so I don't think she will be taking any extra time out."
