Former World No.1 Serena Williams is a trailblazer on and off the court, and the WTA legend has undertaken a new venture as she recently launched WYN Beauty, a new makeup brand.
Following her retirement in 2022, Williams has spent more time with family and working on her business projects. The 22-time Grand Slam champion recently announced the release of WYN Beauty, a makeup brand that caters to women with diverse skin tones who lead an active lifestyle. The entire collection is designed to accommodate a wide spectrum of skin tones, focusing on women with rich melanin skin.

Upon it's announcement on social media, a user lauded Williams' strategy, stating it coincided with the rise in female sports viewership. Williams responded, confirming the statement and adding it was instrumental in her desire to look good despite taking care of her children.

Founder-PMF: The brand's value proposition is unique to Serena as a founder - Makeup you can move in
Market Timing: Wyn is being launched right as we're seeing a meteoric (and long awaited!) rise in female sports viewership
Brand Identity: The visual identity is an obvious nod to Serena once again (founder-pmf!) while the bold, bright colors are sure to win on TikTok

"I love this. Yea women’s sport is on the rise! So is just being active. I swear I’m more active now running around after 2 kids and I still wanna look good.. look good and feel good! And now I can. It moves with me and lasts all day! I’m literally obsessed!" responded Williams.
Growing up in a household where soccer was king, my earliest memories are filled with chants from packed stadiums and the rhythm of a ball being passed across neighborhood streets. But somewhere along the way, the quiet elegance and raw emotion of tennis pulled me in. What began as a curiosity became a lifelong passion; not just for the sport itself, but for the stories it tells: of grit, of heartbreak, of improbable comebacks and human resilience.
As a tennis writer, I bring the observational lens of someone who didn’t grow up in the sport, but fell in love with it as an outsider; a perspective that lets me see both its technical beauty and its emotional depth. Over the years working with TennisUpToDate, I’ve had the privilege of reaching more than 3.5 million readers worldwide, with one of my features ranking among the site’s top three articles.
With a background in storytelling and a creative mind always searching for meaning beyond the scoreboard, I aim to craft narratives that go deeper than results and rankings. Whether it’s a rising star breaking through or a veteran fighting off Father Time, I try to capture the heartbeat behind the headlines.
