The Internationaux de Strasbourg takes place between 17-23 May in a WTA 500 tournament prior to the French Open. Elena Rybakina is defending champion but she won't return this time around to defend her title.
But it is still a stacked field. Victoria Mboko leads the way alongside Ekaterina Alexandrova, Iva Jovic, Clara Tauson, Madison Keys, Liudmila Samsonova and Leylah Fernandez.
Emma Raducanu will also return this next week alongside her US Open winning coach Andrew Richardson as was previously confirmed. It is the week before Roland Garros.

Predictions Internationaux de Strasbourg

Samuel Gill, Head Editor for TennisUpToDate.com sees Iva Jovic as champion.
All three of us have unanimously picked Iva Jovic for the title albeit while I will do the same, I also see some fragility that I think some others may take advantage of.
Jovic has played superbly the past two tournaments but against both Leylah Fernandez and Coco Gauff she has won the first set, gone towards the finish and then lost whether due to her opponent getting into their stride or problems finishing it off.
So if not Jovic, I do see someone like Leylah Fernandez emerging from the pack. Marta Kostyuk and Victoria Mboko too have to be favoured in a stacked field. Kostyuk having a week off after winning Rome. Albeit Karolina Muchova had time off after reaching the final of Stuttgart and struggled on her return so who knows what will happen.
Emma Raducanu I also see either not playing or going out early, I think she should've waited till grass given her illness complications and could get caught out here.

* Victoria Mboko, Clara Tauson
Lucas Michael, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com has picked two young guns for the title.
Tennis in France will take the headlines for the next few weeks. While Roland Garros will have to wait, the Internationaux Strasbourg is the perfect chance for many to get some tennis into their legs ahead of the big one.
The favourite has to be Marta Kostyuk. The Ukrainian will be fresh after skipping Rome. She is yet to lose on clay in 2026 and has clinched two titles, one already in France at Rouen. She will be tough to beat, but it is a stacked lineup in the east of France.
Two late wildcard entries, Victoria Mboko and Emma Raducanu, will look to compete. While I believe Raducanu will not make much impact amid recent problems, Mboko could prove to be a looming danger in the business end.
My sights are on a clash between Mboko and Iva Jovic. The two young talents, who have played doubles together before, are among the next generation of tennis players who are set to take the WTA by storm. While it has slowed down for Jovic in recent times, the 18-year-old will be determined to recover from that missed match point against Coco Gauff in Rome.
Honourable mentions to Leylah Fernandez, Madison Keys and Hailey Baptiste, while for me Ekaterina Alexanderova and Clara Tauson could face early exits despite their seeding. As for the winner, I will pick Jovic for a second WTA title.

Cristhian Avila, Editor for TennisUpToDate.com also sees Iva Jovic as the champion.
Despite the absence of top-10 players, Strasbourg will have a draw loaded with big names and open for whoever finds greater consistency. Teenager Iva Jovic for me runs with an advantage; while still in the process of adapting to clay courts, she has already achieved several wins on the surface, and only losses against high-level rivals (Pegula, Gauff and Fernandez so far on clay this season).
Precisely the Canadian Leylah Fernandez is another player looking to gain confidence in Strasbourg before Roland Garros – where she was already a quarterfinalist a few years ago and only an injury ended up complicating her run.
I will also be attentive to what Maria Sakkari and Elisabetta Cocciaretto can do, other names with a proven reputation on clay courts, and who have only been prevented from being protagonists when they have crossed paths with the top names on Tour.
