Emma Raducanu is not driving her Porsche 911 anymore which she described as her dream car previously and is back in her Dacia Sandero which she bought second hand before winning the US Open.
Raducanu though has benefited from such a media storm surrounding the news as the brand tries its hardest to capitalise and offer her a new route.
The Brit became a global brand ambassador for Porsche following her incredible US Open win back in 2021. She was spotted afterwards driving a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet worth £125,000.
But despite that, Porsche recently took it away and it will likely get sent to the scrap heap with the brand simply saying that they lend the cars on an ad-hoc basis so they are not permanent. As well as that she remains a brand ambassador.
But for many reading in between the lines, it shows that perhaps her partnership with Porsche is coming to an end amid recent poor results which have seen Raducanu not reach her prior heights constantly being dogged by injury.
Dacia have since offered Raducanu a new model of her faithful Sandero posting a picture of a gift-wrapped 24 plate car sat outside the grounds of Wimbledon.
"Dear @EmmaRaducanu, whether it's your forehand, backhand, or Sandero keys in-hand — you know a thing or two about reliability. So while some brands may (double) fault and let you down, you can always trust your Sandero. Here’s to many more miles."
Whether she takes it or not is another matter with her partnership with Porsche still existing albeit with no current car being given to her. But as she ponders her tennis future, it is a genius marketing move by Dacia to get involved.
She is currently due to return to the court at the Hong Kong Open this month albeit has withdrawn from her last three tournaments including early from Ningbo and Guangzhou so will hope if she does play to end her season on a high.
