Jabeur testing out flying solo without coaching team in San Jose: "I'm on the court alone and I'm with my thoughts"

Ons Jabeur played for the first time since Wimbledon on Wednesday by seeing off Madison Keys at the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic but for the Tunisian trailblazer, she has headed to San Jose this week without her coaching team.

Jabeur sees it more as a test of flying solo as opposed to any rifts with the World No.5 set to reunite with them in time for Canada next week.

"This is an individual sport and at the end of the day, I’m on the court alone and I’m with my thoughts. So I thought it would be great experience for me to try that out.” She said.

“I really love to challenge myself sometimes and be able to do those kind of things on my own,” she added. “For me, the main thing was to manage my emotions on the court better. But I like to take the full credit for today’s match, too.”
