Two late withdrawals have occurred in the women's draw for the 2021
US Open with
Jennifer Brady and
Jelena Ostapenko out of the draw before play began this evening.
Brady who has battled injury for some time is out due to a knee injury. This in particular benefits Emma Raducanu who will now face Stefanie Voegele in the first round.
Ostapenko is due to undisclosed medical reasons with Bianca Andreescu who was slated to potentially face her in the third round now having a potentially easier draw. She is replaced by Greet Minnen.
