Jessica Pegula won't play at the
Pan Pacific Open which is set to take place at the end of October after answering her next tournament in a Q&A on her Instagram page.
Pegula tagged the
WTA Finals account in her response to the tournament she is playing next. She was confirmed for Riyadh earlier this week as part of the line-up with only one spot not 100% certain.
As a result, she won't play until then likely due to injury risk and also having very minimal to play for between now and then in regards to ranking points when all WTA 1000 tournaments are now done.
It has been up and down since the US Open final as Pegula lost to Paula Badosa easily in the Last 16 6-4, 6-0 in Beijing and then to Xinyu Wang early on at the Wuhan Open. She then was due to play Ningbo this week but decided against it. Now won't play in Tokyo either.
