Jessica Pegula will continue her insane run of tournaments over the next few weeks despite winning the Charleston Open and her ranking dictating that she doesn't really need to play.
Pegula has very little to defend in the coming months especially during the clay court season where she didn't play. But despite that she will still head to Europe over the next day or so to play Billie Jean King Cup.
Perhaps the one she was expected to skip, she will represent Team USA as they look to make it to the Finals. But then she will head to Stuttgart to play at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
Albeit all of this is with a caveat. That being that she won't bring her coaches to these tournaments and it is more of a holiday. She said that her husband will technically be her coach in the coming weeks as she looks to unwind with her team while in Stuttgart.
She wants to win a Porsche which is currently held by Elena Rybakina and will want to continue that winning feeling. But perhaps this is baffling given her recent time on court with two tournaments in a row reaching the final.
"I think I'm gonna go play Stuttgart, so I'm gonna be there anyway. Haven't played Stuttgart so gonna try and go get a Porsche. I'm just gonna kinda not go with the coach next couple of weeks, a little more relaxed, tryna go travel with my husband Taylor and just maybe not take it so seriously as far as a crazy couple weeks," she said.
"But I'm tryna go have some fun with the team when I get to Stuttgart," she added.
In addition, Billie Jean King Cup is on indoor hard so she will go back to another surface before playing clay the week after in Germany.
