The WTA tour continues with a strong event held in the Czech Republic as the Ostrava Open opens with a four-match schedule of play.
The J&T Banka Ostrava Open kicks off on Monday with a schedule of play that will feature 4 interesting matches with an all-Czech affair. The programme will start at noon with Anett Kontaveit taking on Ekaterina Alexandrova. It will be an interesting match as both players do play well on hard courts and Kontaveit will be looking to improve her showing in Roland Garros. After them, we will see Linette take on Sorribes Tormo. Both of them are not strong hard courts player which should make for an interesting match.
The programme continues in the afternoons with Kristyna Pliskova taking on Maria Sakkari. Pliskova will be looking a the crowd for support which will need in her match against Sakkari. Maria has been playing an all-round type of tennis which is hard to beat. The last match of the day will be a proper delight for the native Czech crowd as they will see two native players go against each other. Krejcikova and Martincova will play a great match in front of their home fans and it should make for a great spectacle to end the opening day at the Ostrava Open.
