Sofia Kenin failed to crown her career-best result at the Roland Garros with a trophy but the American maintained a positive spirit after the loss.
Sofia Kenin lost in the Roland Garros 2020 final to Iga Swiatek 4-6 1-6 but after the match, she tried to keep a positive attitude looking forward. Her initial sentiment was:
"I mean, a lot of positives for sure."
When asked about her 16-2 record at the Grand Slams this year she said:
"I think that's pretty good."
Despite the positive attitude, she could not hide her disappointment and sadness which is normal for any athlete after a defeat. When asked to recap the match she gave a long answer:
"[Swiatek] obviously played a really good match. She's, like, really hot right now, playing some really great tennis. I feel like she served really well. She dictated really well with her forehand. Especially in the first set, a few shots here and there just didn't go my way."
She once against shifted the tone to positive saying that the final was a good result after a humiliating loss to Azarenka in Rome.
Ultimately she ended the press conference by revealing her plans going forward saying that she has had enough of events and bubbles and that she wants to go shopping:
"I feel like I've been in the bubble for, like, months. It's been only a few tournaments. That's what I'm going to do, I'm going to shop."
