Iga Swiatek completed her flawless streak at the 2020
Roland Garros by defeating
Sofia Kenin 6-4, 6-1 to win her first Grand Slam title.
The 19-years-old Polish players was enjoying probably the best tournament of her life. Swiatek defeated Vondrousova, Hsieh, Bouchard, Halep, Trevisian and Podoroska to get to her first Grand Slam final at the 2020 Roland Garros. There, she faced 2020 Australian Open champion, Sofia Kenin. The American was also in a stunning form in Paris, but she was just about to face a real test against Swiatek.
Swiatek was dominant in all of her matches throughout the tournament, and it was no different in the final. She started a match with 12 won points out of 15 rallies to get a quick 3-0 lead. However, Kenin was able to fight back and the scoreboard soon showed 3-3. But the Polish teenager was able to show her best tennis again and converted the second set point of the match to win the first set 6-4.
The start of the second set was hopeful for Kenin. The American broke her opponent in the very first game and got a 1-0 lead. However, since that moment, Swiatek has won 24 out of 30 following points and smashed her opponent 6-1 in the second set to win the 2020 Roland Garros and her first Grand Slam title.
