Keys will now face Svetlana Kuznetsova after she stopped top seed Ashleigh Barty earlier this evening and now Keys is into her first hard-court final since 2017.
The 2017 US Open finalist lost a 5-2 lead in the first set to Kenin who saved a set point and won three games in a row to tie at 5-5; but she bounced back at the right time claiming the set 7-5.
Keys was broken twice in the second set though but won the last three games to seal victory in one hour and 22 minutes.
It was a high quality affair with the more experienced American hit 14 aces and just four double faults throughout against Kenin who comes off the back of a good run of form at the Rogers Cup where she only lost in the semi-finals to eventual champion Bianca Andreescu.
