King Richard actress sheds light on comical side of Venus Williams

Venus Williams is one of the most accomplished and composed athletes on the WTA Tour, but the American superstar has a funny side to her, according to 'King Richard' actress Saniyaa Sidney.

Sidney, who plays the role of a young Venus Williams in the movie, spent a lot of time with the seven-time Grand Slam champion and spoke on their interactions during shooting of the film.

“Every day was a joy to tell her story and walk in her Reebok pumps," said the 15-year old actress. "We looked so dumb.”

Sidney would go on to thank Venus for trusting and accepting her to be the perfect fit to play her character in the movie. Furthermore, she revealed that the former World No.1 had a comical side that most people aren't aware of.

“Thank you so much Venus for trusting in me and accepting me with open arms and for always making me laugh. You are probably one of the funniest people I know,” she said.

"Thank you for never being afraid to be yourself. You set the example for me that showing my strength, my beauty, and my voice will always be important.”
