Krejcikova smashes Martincova to win 2021 Prague Open

Barbora Krejcikova did not disappoint her native Czech fans in the Prague Open final which she won by smashing Martincova 6-2 6-0.

Krejcikova entered the Prague Open as the top seed and many expected her to bounce back from a not so great Wimbledon run. The Czech player did not disappoint reaching the final without dropping a set. She continued that trend in the final vs Martincova whom she defeated in straight sets.

Krejcikova encountered some early struggles as she had two save break points in her first service game. Once she did that and settled she was able to completely overwhelm her opponent. Martincova was hitting the ball hard but Krejcikova possessed continuity in rallies which the Slovakian player did not.

Krejcikova was also able to attack Martincova fairly early in rallies which caused a lot of trouble for the Slovakian. She was hitting her serve at a decent clip but won less than 40 % of 1st serve points which was not good against Krejcikova.

The French Open champion continues her sensational 2021 campaign with another trophy, winning her 2nd trophy in 2021 in three finals played. The trophy is her 4th singles title overall.
