"Like Federer and Nadal" - Gauff on her rivalry with Osaka

Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka will face each other in the Silicon Valley Classic and ahead of the match Gauff admitted it's pretty competitive

Naomi Osaka and Coco Gauff played a couple of times and both are tremendous competitors. They will also be playing each other for many years and speaking ahead of their clash in San Jose Gauff compared it to Federer - Nadal from a competitive standpoint:

“From a competitive standpoint, it would be like Federer and Nadal. I mean emotion-wise. When we’re on court, we’re going to fight really hard against each other but off the court we have nothing but respect for each other for what we do on and off the court.”

Osaka won two of the three matchups they had so far and she plans on making it three. It won't be easy as Guaff is currently playing excellent tennis. The young American is not underestimating Osaka because to her she's a great champion:

“I played her a lot of times and she’s obviously going to be a tough opponent. Either way, win or lose, I think that the match is going to be great. She’s such a champion, on and off the court, so I guess those are the type of people that you want to play, and I look forward to playing those matches.”
