Since winning the WTA Finals at the end of 2021, the demise of former World Number One,
Garbine Muguruza has seen the Spaniard drop to 132nd in the world.
Muguruza has only played four times this year and not since January and that is set to continue past the clay and grass-court seasons.
After some time away from the sport, she said that she will take some more time away to recharge with a return date of post
Wimbledon likely heading into the US Open.
"Spending time with family and friends and it's really been healthy and amazing, so I am going to lengthen this period till summer," Muguruza said on social media.
