"My goal is the French Open": Former Australian Open finalist Jennifer Brady prepares for tennis comeback after vanishing post injury

A forgotten name potentially to tennis fans is that of Jennifer Brady who reached the final of the 2021 Australian Open and looked destined for a breakout season before a knee injury curtailed that.

Brady has since flirted with a comeback but vanished from social media but has seemingly been preparing to return to the tour away from the public glare.

The American last played at the Western & Southern Open back in 2021` but speaking on Rennae Stubbs' Power Hour, she confirmed that she is looking for a clay return.

"My goal is the French Open, that's what I am shooting for. You know, I am out here, switching over to grinding on the red clay. Well, I wouldn't say grinding here, but you know, getting the body used to sliding, getting used to, you know, a little bit of movement, all that kind of stuff," she said on Rennae Stubbs' The Power Hour.

But despite that, recovery has not been easy and asked if she was sure of a comeback, she said.

"Today, no, but you know what? We are on a better track than we were last year, we will tell you that. Definitely on the right track, figuring things out, definitely not an easy case, so all kinds of little stuff going on. So, we are a on a better place than we were last year, that's for sure."
