Former World No.1
Naomi Osaka has revealed she will be returning to the tennis courts at the BNP Paribas Open
Indian Wells tournament, which is scheduled to run from March 07-20, 2022.
The Japanese superstar last competed at the 2022
Australian Open, where she suffered a surprise third-round loss to Amanda Anisimova. Osaka held a Q&A session on Instagram, where she revealed that her next tournament would be Indian Wells.
The four-time Grand Slam champion announced her arrival on the WTA tour when she lifted the title at Indian Wells in 2018. After winning her second Australian Open title in 2020, Osaka has made sporadic appearances on the tennis court due to her taking time off to address her mental health issues.
When asked what she did for fun during her spare time, the 24-year old responded with "I'm doing a lot of things right now. I am the type of person that always has to have projects going on, I just never tell anyone what I'm doing until it comes out. Mainly reading a lot during this time though."
