Although she may have hung up her racket, WTA legend Serena Williams is actively pursuing the next stage of her life, as she announced the launch of her own multimedia company.
Williams retired following last year's US Open, and is now facing the challenge of conquering the entertainment industry with the launch of 926 Productions.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, 926 Productions is close to finalizing a TV deal with Amazon Studios. Williams stated the goal of her production company was to elevate female and diverse voices, and they hoped to achieve this through their unique content with Caroline Currier appointed as president,
"With the launch of 926 Productions, we aim to elevate female and diverse voices through content that speaks to everyone," said the 23-Grand Slam champion. "I’m so excited to begin this next chapter of my career alongside Caroline, a woman who understands the art of storytelling and is passionate about evolving the entertainment industry in new directions.
"I look forward to collaborating with her and developing unique projects that inspire audiences across all platforms."
