"Nothing will be bigger than that" says Belinda Bencic on her Olympic gold medal

Belinda Bencic won the Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics last summer and the Swiss player talked about how much it meant to her.

Bencic spoke many times already about what the gold medal means to her and her emotions during the whole event and after the event just speak volumes on what it means for her. Asked to put it into words, she phrased it like this:

"For me the gold medal is just everything. Nothing will get bigger than that. I will trade every loss for this gold medal...it's really my baby.' But: 'I'm not like, I have nothing to lose this year. For me this mentality by winning the gold feels like I'm more free now."

She also talked about where she keeps her trophies and her medal and on that with a smile she responsed:

"I found a nice place. I have framed the medals and put a t-shirt from the Olympic Games and some photos inside. It is something very nice to have within our house and my boyfriend and I love to look at it when we walk past. It is a really nice memory and looking at the gold medal is just so special. Those goosebumps are definitely still there."
