WTA Draw confirmed for 2022 Australian Open: Defending champion Osaka to face Osorio Serrano, potential fourth round clash with Barty

The women's singles draw has been completed ahead of the 2022 Australian Open which takes place between January 17-30, 2022 in Melbourne.

All eyes will be on defending champion Naomi Osaka who will face rising Colombian star, Camila Osorio Serrano.

She could battle World No.1 Ashleigh Barty in the fourth round who will face will face a qualifier yet to be confirmed in the opening round with the potential of Camila Giorgi in the third round in a tough draw for the home hero.

While for US Open champion Emma Raducanu, she will face Sloane Stephens in the opening round with a potential third round against Simona Halep.

No.2 seed is Aryna Sabalenka who will take on Storm Sanders. Paula Badosa will face Ajla Tomljanovic, WTA Finals champion, Garbine Muguruza will start against Clara Burel.

While former Australian Open champion, Sofia Kenin faces compatriot Madison Keys as she looks to return to the form which saw her claim the trophy previously.

The potential Quarter-Finals include Barty facing Maria Sakkari, an all Spanish clash between Garbine Muguruza and Paula Badosa, French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova facing Anett Kontaveit and Sabalenka taking on Iga Swiatek.
