Ons Jabeur will not play at the Madrid Open which starts fully on Tuesday (25 April) and will not defend her title as a result at the Caja Magica.
Jabeur hobbled out of the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart facing Iga Swiatek in an eagerly awaited tie but having to retire only games in.
This after she has spent most of the season out with injury already in bad news for the Tunisian. She was due to face Ana Bogdan or Anna Bondar.
