Fourth seed Naomi Osaka did not hold back on Wednesday night, as she bulldozed her way to the third round at the US Open.

The Japanese superstar faced Camila Giorgi on Arthur Ashe stadium, and made quick work of her Italian opponent. Osaka dominated the match from the onset, finishing with a 6-1 6-2 victory after just 70 minutes.
Giorgi is renown for her hitting power, but was unable to get past Osaka who matched her with each ground stroke. After the 2018 champion raced to a 5-0 lead, Giorgi managed to salvage a game before Osaka won the first set in just under 30 minutes.
Looking to end matters quickly, Osaka obtained an early break in the second set. Although Giorgi displayed her fighting spirit, she was no match for the World No.9. The errors began to fly off the Italian's racket as she struggled to match Osaka's power and consistency. Giorgi committed 23 unforced errors, compared to only 11 by the Japanese youngster. It came as no surprise when Osaka finally closed out the match, booking her place in the next round.
Osaka next faces Ukraine's Marta Kostyuk, who upset 31st seed Anastasija Sevastova 6-3 7-6(5) in her second round match.
