On Wednesday, fans in Italy saw victories of their two wild-cards Sara Errani and Elisabetta Cocciaretto. However, on Thursday there will be only one Italian player fighting for her quarterfinal spot at the Palermo Ladies Open as we know the full schedule of play.

The action on the center court will begin with the match between the fourth-seeded Anett Kontaveit and Laura Siegemund from Germany. Kontaveit defeated the German on the hardcourt in Beijing back in 2018 and she will be trying to add also a claycourt victory in Italy.

The first-seeded Petra Martic will take one of the successful qualifiers, Liudmila Samsonova. The Russian is currently having an 8-match winning streak, but she didn't face a player of qualities which world no. 15 in the WTA Ranking definitely has.

Kaja Juvan is another successful qualifier in Palermo. The Slovenian defeated the second-seeded Marketa Vondrousova in the first round and she will be facing the Italian ace, Camila Giorgi in the second.

The fourth day in Italy will also see a match between the seventh-seeded Dayana Yastremska and Oceane Dodin. The French player defeated Yastremska 3 years ago on the grasscourt in Surbiton, but conditions in Palermo will be much different.
