Ajla Tomljanovic played very hard to beat but in the end,
Paula Badosa found a way to defeat the native Australian in Australia.
Both Badosa and Tomljanovic and two strong-willed tennis players rarely backing down from a challenge. Both had their competitive capes on for this match as it was a really close affair, at least initially. The first set lasted almost an entire hour and it was Badosa ultimately prevailed 6-4.
It was a lot more messier than the score would indicate as we saw 7 losses of serve. The players traded breaks early on but after that Badosa established control of the match. She took a 3-1 lead that became a 4-1 lead which then got reduced to a 4-3 lead. Tomljanovic had the chance to make it tied twice but each time lost her serve.
The final break won the set for Badosa with 6-4. The 2nd set saw Tomljanovic completely fall apart. The Australian did not serve as well and lacked the competitive fire she had in the first set. Badosa was able to completely take over the match with her forehand winning it 6-0.
