Paula Badosa kicked off her
Ostrava Open campaign with a strong win over Gracheva 6-2 6-2.
The Spanish player got back to winning ways in her first match at the Ostrava Open against a tricky player in Varvara Gracheva. Badosa played a very sound match from the start getting up on Gracheva early 3-1. After that, she continued playing well and added another break to win the opening set 6-2. She was serving very well despite hitting 3 double faults.
Gracheva had no chance and she did not get a single break point in the first set she she was overrun by Badosa on her own 2nd serve winning only 2 out of 7 points. The 2nd set was a very similar one but this time around Gracheva played a much stronger set. She showed much more fight but once again Badosa proved too good.
Sher served well not allowing a single break point in the 2nd set while applying pressure on Gracheva on both serves. Gracheva saved 5/7 break points but still surrendered her serve twice losing the 2nd set with 6-2.
A strong start for Badosa who moves on in the very strong Ostrava Open. She will face either Cirstea or Kontaveit next.
