With the WTA draw officially out for the Western & Southern Open we know which players might face each other in the quarterfinals.
This is just a projection and it will depend on whether they actually perform on the court according to their seeding but if we do get some of these it would be great.
Iga Swiatek is the number one seed and the Polish player might face
Garbine Muguruza in the quarterfinal. It will largely depend on whether she actually plays some good tennis because she didn't do that in Toronto.
The 2nd projected quarterfinals is between
Paula Badosa and
Ons Jabeur. Neither played that great in Toronto and both are hoping to catch some form here before they head out to New York. The third projected quarterfinal is between
Jessica Pegula and
Maria Sakkari. It's an interesting matchup on paper particularly because Pegula is playing really strong tennis at the moment.
The final one should be
Aryna Sabalenka and
Anett Kontaveit. Both are having trouble with tennis at the moment so perhaps a good run in Cincinnati could unlock them in time for the US Open.
