if this isn’t proof that your dreams are closer than you think then idk what is
It appears tennis prodigy Coco Gauff was destined to be successful at the sport, as the American recently retweeted a throwback photo showing herself watch WTA icon Venus Williams in action at the 2012 US Open.
Gauff is currently the World No.3 and top-ranked American. The 20-year old has taken the WTA tour by storm, capturing her maiden Grand Slam title at the US Open last year. With her stock on the rise, it will come as no surprise if she adds more Major titles to her resume in an attempt to etch her name in the record books.
A fan on social media somehow discovered a photo of Gauff at the 2012 US Open, where the young American was seen watching a match between Venus Williams and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.
"Wowwwwwww no way someone found this," Gauff wrote on Twitter. "That is me watching Venus at the US Open. [I] didn't even know the TV caught me in the stands. Whoever found this, shoutout to you omg.
"THIS IS CRAZY,' continued Gauff later in an Instagram story. "Time flies. I def (definitely) was looking at the jumbotron to see if the camera was showing me, lol. Thank you for sharing. If this isn't proof that your dreams are closer than you think, I don't know what is. Seven years later, I played her. And then 11 years later, I won the thing. Life is crazy. Whoever found this picture, wow, thank you."
