Noted tennis analyst and former pro Mats Wilander said:

Wilander also believes the phenom has a decent chance for a good run at Flushing Meadows with the draw looking rather favourable. She faces an in-form Sara Sorribes Tormo next who already bested several notable players across 2021. He said:

“It is not going to be easy. If Emma Raducanu can beat this lady, she is going to have to play some really good tennis, not for one hour, not for one set but for a long period. It is an unbelievable opportunity for Raducanu and Sorribes Tormo to play each other and get to the fourth round. Sorribes Tormo is as tough as anyone to beat.”
