Former Serena Williams coach Rick Macci has stated that he would be happy to work with Emma Raducanu if she approached him. The former World No. 10 had been working with Nick Cavaday for the past year, but their partnership lasted only 12 months, marking another coaching change for the Brit.

Raducanu recently parted ways with Cavaday following her Australian Open campaign, where she reached the third round before losing in straight sets to Iga Swiatek. The coach explained that he needed to prioritise his health and step away from the tour’s demanding schedule.

Looking ahead to the rest of the season, Raducanu has accepted a wildcard for the Abu Dhabi Open’s main draw, where she was initially set to play in the qualifying rounds. The British No. 2 will be training this week with Roman Kelecic, her childhood coach based in Dubai, in what appears to be a temporary collaboration.

Raducanu will likely seek a permanent coach in the near future, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see her work with a high-profile name. Recently, former Serena Williams coach Rick Macci expressed his willingness to help the 21-year-old climb back up the rankings.

"Was asked about helping Emma," Macci wrote on X. "If parents/team asked, I would maybe guide/help mould the mental, strategic, and biomechanical part from here. I am too busy to travel, but I could rewire the serve and mindset and help set the table to eat her way back into the top ten. @EmmaRaducanu.”

Raducanu will make her Abu Dhabi Open debut on Monday against former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova, who also received a wildcard. The winner will face fourth seed Yulia Putintseva in the next round.
