Former coach of Venus and Serena Williams, Rick Macci, jokingly shared on social media about a famous quote that Richard Williams says to his daughters whenever he sees them. Macci began working with Serena and Venus in 1991 when they were 9 and 10 years old, respectively.
The Williams sisters were coached by their father before that, back when they lived in Compton, California, and used public courts to play. The young talents led them to move to West Palm Beach, Florida, where they started working with the renowned coach Rick Macci.
Richard Williams withdrew his daughters from Macci's academy in 1995. The rest is history; both became tennis legends, accumulating a total of 30 Grand Slam titles between them (23 for Serena, 7 for Venus). Additionally, they jointly won 14 women's doubles majors.
Throughout his career, Macci also coached other players who reached world No. 1 and won Grand Slam tournaments, such as Andy Roddick, Jennifer Capriati, and Maria Sharapova.
Recently, Rick Macci jokingly shared on social media about Richard Williams' most consistent one-liner:
"Richard Williams most Consistent One Liner is even more Consistent than VW [Venus Williams] and SW [Serena Williams] Consistently Hitting the Line. Every time I meet up with the Compton Comedian his famous quote is Hey Rick thank you for Getting Us Out Of The GHETO! Love This Guy! @serenawilliams @Venuseswilliams"
