Williams had another easy day at the office against Zidansek to advance into the 3rd round of the Ladies Australian Open
Serena Williams was on the court today and she wasted no time so we are going to do the same. The first set started out with a Serena Williams break. It was the usually jitters that her opponents have when facing her and she seized the opportunity. The two ladies continued to battle it out for nearly half an hour before the set was finished in favour of Serena by 6-2.
She was superb in it hitting 3 aces without any double faults and saving the only break point she allowed. Her opponent, on the other hand, struggled on her own serve hence the result. The 2nd set was a bit different. It was much more of a fight than the 1st one and Zidansek played much better.
She saved numerous breakpoints but ultimately couldn't hang on against Serena who in crucial moments raised the level of her played and overcame her opponent. The final score was 6-2 6-3 which is a slight downgrade from
round 1 but her opponent was a much stronger player today. She was spectacular on her own serve hitting 7 aces in total with zero double faults. She was also composed in key moments saving all four break points she allowed.
