The 2022
Madrid Open begins in a few days and we have several mouth-watering potential quarterfinals on the cards.
Obviously, a lot will depend on how the players actually perform but with the field filled with some of the best players in the world there is a very good chance we might get some of these. There was the potential for
Iga Swiatek-Garbine Muguruza but the World Number One has since withdrawn from the tournament citing injury.
The 2nd one might feature
Maria Sakkari taking on
Danielle Collins. They too played once before with Sakkari leading 1-0. Neither has played much in recent weeks so it will be interesting to see whether this one comes true.
The 3rd potential one features Badosa and Jabeur. They recently played a very good match in Stuttgart and getting it again would be excellent. Badosa is leading the H2H 3-1. The final one might feature Aryna Sabalenka and Karolina Pliskova. Both are strong on clay and both have a great serve which always helps in Madrid. The H2H is 2-2.
